About Us

The Graphic Designer position will be housed in Harris Poll’s central resources and utilized across company teams, such as marketing and client services. The primary focus of this position will be expanding Harris Poll's brand and style guidelines uniformly across the company with visual projects (e.g., charts, reports, etc.). We seek a designer who can fulfill individual visual asks while maintaining a larger design narrative that is cohesive and engaging across Harris Poll promotional and public-facing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Designing visuals clearly and effectively across online mediums.
  • Transforming data and insights into high-quality visuals by designing…
    • Clear and engaging graphics (e.g., charts, infographics, etc.)
    • Engaging videos (e.g., short-form clips, webinar clips, etc.)
    • Branded templates (e.g., decks, insights, etc.)
  • Collaborating with research teams to understand data narratives and concept optimal visualizations
  • Researching the latest design trends/tools for continuous development in visual storytelling abilities

Qualifications

  • Established design portfolio to demonstrate style and ability, particularly with data visualization examples and animation/video creation samples
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Experience with Canva, Sketch, and/or other design platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of Web Design (and/or UI/UX best practices)
  • A bachelor's or technical degree in graphic design, data visualization, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with polling data, quantitative research, and narrative building is appreciated.

Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in New York City for this role is $70,000-$80,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
