Responsibilities

Stagwell’s Brand and Communications Team is looking for a Director of Events. This person will report into the VP, Brand and will work across events in the United States, Europe and beyond. The most important aspects of this position are the ability to think ahead and the ability to be solutions-oriented. The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, energetic, obsessed with detail, highly organized, and possess strong communication and analytical skills 

 

The Director of Events will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event production, from concept development to final execution. This role will manage cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure that all events meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, a passion for flawless execution, and the ability to lead complex events with confidence and precision.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage events from start to finish, overseeing all phases of production from concept to completion.  
  • Lead cross-functional teams, assigning roles and responsibilities while ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.  
  • Collaborate with internal departments to define event objectives, goals, and success metrics. Coordinate with internal and external teams across marketing, design, and operations to ensure alignment on event details and goals. 
  • Source and manage relationships with external vendors, including venues, production companies, and catering services. Negotiate contracts, oversee deliverables, and ensure vendor accountability for meeting project deadlines and quality standards. 
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, staffing, transportation, and on-site setup. Ensure all operational elements are in place for smooth execution. 
  • Lead day-of-event coordination, overseeing all aspects of event setup, production, and breakdown. Troubleshoot any issues that arise to ensure overall success 
  • Create and manage event budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources. Track expenses, provide forecasting, and handle budget reconciliation post-event.  
  • Provide detailed post-event reports, analyzing key performance indicators, budget performance, and attendee feedback.  

Qualifications

  • 7 years of managing multiple, complex large-scale events across venues and cities, both in the US and beyond 
  • Solutions-oriented approach 
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-paced team 
  • Strong analytical and creative skills with exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Composure under pressure and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communicator with internal and external partners, showcasing excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and resourcefulness
  • Ability to build and leverage cross-departmental relationships and resources
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills 
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations 

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in New York City for this role is $105,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
